I have enjoyed amateur astronomy and technically difficult things since I was very little. I have visited Adler Planetarium all my life and also took astronomy classes in college. Now that we live in the future, there is a lot of neat technology and software that allows anyone to delve deeply into the stars. I use a 12in dobsonian for my astrophotography and I combine it with a variety of filters and lenses depending on if the object I am attempting to view is a deep space object, or a planetary object, a star cluster, versus a gas cloud and so on. It's neat and appeals to my lifelong nerdship that we're able to view celestial bodies of unfathomable size, at equally unfathamonable distances with only some mirrors and a tube. As such, I also enjoy attempting to stream the live telescope view. It's a little more difficult, however, because dobsonians don't tend to have an orbiting platform which newtonian telescopes typically have, so the setup for a dobsonian has to be a little more interactive (closer to the 'puter). This requires additional technical considerations such as power supply and consumption. Anyway, I'm working on it. Once I have a setup I'm happy with, I'll start giving you the stars.
